I interpret this Film from a Feminist lens, that it's symbolic of Vicki becoming a Women and her Sexually Repressed desires she hides out of shame, but my theory is that she's not Possessed, she just realizes the actual truth that everyone is dishonest, a hypocrite and full of shit, but it's done through a Surrealist Freudian Nightmarish fever dream of a movie which resembles the 1977 Film Suspiria, Italian Horror Films, Carrie and A Nightmare on Elm Street. So much more original, interesting, funny and better than the Original Prom Night. Since they remade Prom Night, the Original, I'd be okay with an R Rated Remake of the Sequel by someone like Diablo Cody, Eli Roth, Rob Zombie or Kate McKinnon.

I want to do a Parody of this but have a Mary Lou Prom Queen who's Non-Binary, Gender Fluid Female looking similar to Lady Gaga who teases and harasses her Closeted Bi-Sexual Boyfriend who cheats on her with Guys and other Trans women secretly, all the while pretending to mock them to avoid his true feelings, but also doing a Parody of Vice TV's Evergreen College Expose. Prom Night 2 (2020's Version.) Vicky aka.Mary Lou: You're a Straight Cis Male!!!! Boyfriend: Don't you ever call me that! (Sexy Flashback to all his Sexual Encounters, edited like a 90's Thriller on Basic Cable.) Vicki aka. Mary Lou: You can't satisfy me like you do your Boyfriends and the Football team from what I heard! Boyfriend: That's not True, You Lie Vicki! What's come over you? (She kisses him on the cheek.) (Poorly edited Flashbacks of all his Bi and Pan Encounters, like something out of a Thriller.) Boyfriend: You Bitch, I'll have you know that my Dad has connections! Vicki aka. Mary Lou: It's okay, we're all a little confused honey....A little Bisexual. (Mary Lou leaves Vicki's body and Vicki starts to cry from the Possession.) Vicki: I'm so sorry Josh, I love you. I don't know what came over me. That's not you. (sobs and cries.) Josh: It's okay Vicki, you might me a little Bi-Polar. (The twist is, she was correct or Mary Lou was.) (Poor Vicky!) 😢 😆😂😅🤣

Superb feature! I do wish they had gone through the effect shot when Alice gets sucked into the cinema screen too, that was super effective and I'm am impressed with how it looks like going from live to flat in a single shot.

I've been considering getting my hands on the old DVD. The open matte version looks fantastic. Not sure which version Kubrick preferred, but as stated earlier, the boxy look makes you feel entrapped. Ironic since we're really getting more image

Some scenes were better. In others, I prefer the Blu Ray. For example, I like the jump rope scene being hazier. Oberall, I prefer yours, but some scenes, not so much.

I once worked with a lady named Linda Blair and her voice was exactly like this Linda Blair. Not kidding. 😂

This is the version I saw on satellite TV decades ago! I was very disappointed by the Blu-ray release of this and the first film. Great scenes and wonderfully surreal. ANOES5 is actually hugely underrated. I didn't care for it as a teenager, but in my 40s I found it hugely impressive. It's aged extremely well. It's actually a very mature end to the ANOES 1, 3, 4 and 5 storyline, bringing things perfectly to a close.

This looks so much better than the Blu-ray!! I hate the changes to the colour. Being UK-based, my original viewing of the film was on a VHS which had a longer version of Tina's death with the splash sound when she hit the bed and the blood spurting across the room. The splash always got me. IIRC, Rod's death scene and the crunch as his neck breaks goes on longer. Possibly Glen's death was a little longer too. As a sidenote, in terms of grading, when Nancy is pulled under the water, Heather's (or her body double's) breasts were clearly visible underwater.

So good to see a HD print of this fabulous little movie. I've such fond memories of renting this as a new release so long ago and having so much fun watching it. It was nothing like I expected and quickly won a place in my heart where it's remained ever since. Thanks for such wonderful work on this!

Uncut timecode copies had more in Greta's death; you saw him scoop from her stomach 3 times. Never seen it totally uncut on any actual release.
